Star Wheel #1 $1,000

On June 28, 1978, Match Game had a new addition to the Super Match called the Star Wheel. At the Head-To-Head Match, the winning contestant would spin the wheel and whichever celebrity it stopped at would be the celebrity the contestant would try to match. Also, if the wheel stopped at a gold star area, s/he'd play for double the money.

The debut episode of the Star Wheel, it landed on Richard Dawson and the entire panel left because during the days before the wheel, every contestant chose Richard.
